The English College, Dubai, is looking for an enthusiastic, innovative Librarian/Teacher Librarian who is passionate about reading and 21st Century learning. The candidate should see the library as a hub of learning and be familiar with both electronic library systems and the flexibility of a 21st century learning environment. Candidate must be able to relate to students of all ages and be able to provide learning opportunities for all library using students. Main duties are: Maintaining a library environment that is conducive to learning and allows students to study/read/ utilise library space to carry out independent or group study. Managing library inventory, performing stock checks at the end of each term and preparing item lists for removal, relocation and binding. Liaising with different departments to arrange educational activities and literacy events such as reading challenges, book talks, tours, exhibits and displays. Successful applicants will: Be enthusiastic, talented and dedicated practitioners with excellent subject knowledge Be able to provide a UK enhanced DBS or equivalent police check Be professional in appearance and conduct Be willing to contribute to the wider curriculum and support the vision of the school Be fluent in written and spoken English. Have a recognised qualification in Library Science Competitive salary, dependent upon qualifications and experience. Start date is flexible. Part-Time Primary Music Teacher The English College, Dubai, seeks a passionate and innovative part-time Primary Music teacher, with a growth mindset and high expectations. The successful candidate will be part of an outstanding Primary department, focused on creating the best environment for our learners to grow and develop academically, emotionally, physically and socially. The successful candidate will demonstrate a dynamic and creative approach to teaching with the ability to inspire and motivate students with a diverse range of talents and abilities. Candidates must also have the necessary skills and vision to enhance teaching and learning within the Primary school. The successful candidate will need to be sympathetic with the ethos and values of The English College. We are looking for a highly committed team player with the drive, energy and passion to develop this forward-looking school. You should also illustrate a capacity to help students achieve their absolute best as part of a team, a proactive commitment to the pastoral care and well-being of our learners, and a willingness to contribute to the thriving extra-curricular life of our school. Successful applicants will: ● Be enthusiastic, talented and dedicated practitioners with excellent subject knowledge ● Hold a QTS or PGCE teaching qualification from the UK ● Have a minimum of two years’ experience of teaching ● Be able to provide a UK enhanced DBS or equivalent police check ● Be professional in appearance and conduct ● Be willing to contribute to the wider curriculum and support the vision of the school The position is for 2 days per week with a salary, exact days to be agreed.
