Distance Learning – FAQs

‘As part of the preventive and precautionary measures aimed at maintaining safety of students and in line with the efforts made to contain the spread of coronavirus, COVID-19, the Ministry of Education has announced a four-week closure of all public and private schools and higher education institutions across the UAE, starting Sunday 8th March.’
No. The spring break holiday for all school students started on Sunday 8 March for two weeks. School starts on Sunday March 22, and all education will be delivered by the school through a form of distance learning for two weeks. The two weeks of distance learning are included in the second semester of the school year and fees have already been paid. We encourage our parents to ensure that their children are getting the most out of this distance learning.
Health authorities are continuously assessing the situation so please continue to monitor the KHDA FAQs: It is expected that classes at school will resume on Sunday 5 April 2020. We will keep our school community updated via D6 and our website.
We understand that some families may have already booked their holidays based on the initial Spring Break dates. If your travel dates cannot be changed, please notify our school reception via or telephone 04 394 3465. Please note that this absence will be classified as ‘unauthorised’ as per KHDA policy.
Students are not allowed to enter our school at all during the four-week period.
Students will be expected to attend virtual lessons as timetabled unless otherwise advised. During this period, we would appreciate parents’ support in ensuring your child’s timely and consistent attendance at their online sessions, to ensure that good habits are maintained. Online attendance will be monitored daily and parents will be alerted to any concerns.
Pupils can contact Anthony Moran, Head of Computing, in case passwords need to be reset:
We do not expect any extension to the school year or change to the number of school days as we will provide distance learning.
As per Dubai Health Authority and KHDA guidelines, our school, as well as the school buses, have undergone extensive deep cleaning and disinfection.
